ARTIST'S  STATEMENT

As an artist, I am inspired by the spiritual connection, and the ever-changing and unpredictable qualities of nature. My paintings feature highly textured multi colored planes with an emphasis on the interplay between light and dark.

Whether my work is non-objective or representative, or a blend of both, the creative spirit within me remains the same.  When I paint I feel a certain spirituality and energy, and a need to express them in a way that leaves a positive and lasting impression.

The march of humanity has populated the earth with descendants of our earliest ancestors from East Africa.  My recent paintings portray the existence of those living in the Now with a backdrop and recognition of those from whom we are descended.  The circumstances of who we are and how we got here are, in most cases, minimally documented, but our connections as humans transcend the constraints of culture, politics and ethnicity.
